How About A ‘Desperate Housewives’ Movie: Cool or Not?
When ‘Sex And The City’ was brought to the big screen, fans went gaga. The movie sold out at the box office enough to have demanded for another one. Now, the Desperate Housewives series is looking at taking the big screen too? Is that even possible?
It appears that a continuation of your favorite TV characters on the big screen is so hot right now. Keri Hetcher, who plays Susan Mayer hinted on Extra that if the perfect script is provided, she will definitely say ‘yes’ to a Desperate Housewives Movie. Who doesn’t want the women on Westeria Lane to continue their thrilling and charismatic life styles?
“I love the fans of the show so much, and they don’t seem to be done with those characters,” she said. “I think it would be great for them. If a script ever came across my lap, I would read it hoping that it would work out, but I don’t really see that happening.”
Don’t raise your hopes too high buddies, this might never happen. Creator of the series, Marc Cherry has ruled out the possibility of that great move when he mentioned that,
“Sex and the City only did like 69 episodes. The advantage for them was they hadn’t really plumbed the depths of those characters,” Cherry explained. “After eight years, I think we’re done. I’m happy about it. It’s not a bad thing. I feel very satisfied with where we are. I’m never sending these girls to Dubai. That’s all I’m saying.”
Laugh all you want, but that wouldn’t be a very bad idea at all. The big series signed off after eight brilliant seasons in May 2012 and maybe Keri Hetcha is just dreaming but never say never!
Would you want to see a Desperate Housewives Movie? Or was their televised goodbye enough for you?
