I’m Not An Armed Robber, I Only Buy Stolen Vehicles - Father Of Four Confesses

I’m Not An Armed Robber, I Only Buy Stolen Vehicles - Father Of Four Confesses

A self-acclaimed Building Engineer has told operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command, that he is not an armed robber but a receiver of stolen vehicles.
The suspect, Kayode Haruna, who claimed to be a graduate of Yaba College of Technology, was alleged to have bought over 50 stolen vehicles from armed robbers at low prices after which would sell them members of the public.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, said that the suspect advised the robbers to snatch unregistered vehicles coming into the country at the border.
She said because the vehicles were not registered, they were difficult to trace and the suspect would sell them to members of the public.
She said, “A gang of robbers were arrested last year and they confessed that their modus operandi was to snatch vehicles from people bringing in vehicles from Cotonou, Benin Republic. They would then sell the stolen vehicles to Haruna.
“Based on their confession, police began to search for Haruna. After months of investigation, he was arrested and he will be charged to court for receiving stolen goods.”
The 40-year-old suspect, however said that he had sold only 30 vehicles as against the over 50 the police alleged.
The native of Kwara State said when he initially started dealing with the robbers, he did not know that the vehicles were stolen.
He added that when he later knew that the vehicles were stolen, he continued the business relationship because “the devil tempted” him to continue.
He said, “I was working at a construction site one day when one of my boys, Sola, gave me the telephone number of Stanley, whom he said was a customs officer that sold vehicles at very cheap prices. I met with Stanley, Ejike and Dada and they gave me very good prices. So, we started doing business.
“Most times, they called me with different telephone numbers and we met at different hotels in Egbeda, Mile 12 areas,  Lagos, or the Mowe area of Ogun State.
I always paid cash and they handed over the vehicles to me. They told me the vehicles were impounded vehicles, so I did not suspect anything initially.
“On one occasion, however, they sold to me a blood-stained vehicle. This was when I started to suspect that they were armed robbers. I would have stopped dealing with them but the devil pushed me to continue to do business with them.”
When asked how much he usually bought and sold the vehicles, the father of four said, “I have bought and sold only 30 vehicles. I usually sell Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla and Toyota Highlander because the demand for the vehicles is high.
“The market price for Toyota Highlander is about N2.2m but I buy it at N1m. I buy Toyota Camry 2010 model for N1.5m and I sell it for N2.4m. The Toyota Camry I am currently driving, I bought it at N350,000.”

Kenyan mall ablaze as names of terrorists and victims are released

Kenyan special forces were today locked in a fight to the death with Islamic terrorists who have been barricaded inside a Nairobi mall with up to 40 hostages since Saturday.

Witnesses described hearing four large explosions at the Westgate Shopping Centre followed by fierce gun fire after the military tried to break the three day siege by gaining access from the roof.

It is feared that some of the gunmen inside may have blown themselves up, though a Kenyan government minister said that militants had set fire to some mattresses in a supermarket as a decoy.

Update: It's been confirmed that the terrorists didn't blow themselves up, they set ablaze mattresses they got from one of the supermarkets in the mall, as a diversion. The terrorists have been corned in one of the rooms inside the mall. Continue...

Interior Minister Joseph Ole Lenku said that two of the terrorists had been killed and that most hostages were now free. All of the militants were men, he added, although some were dressed as women. So far, 69 people have been confirmed dead. At least 175 were injured, including children.

A top military official said he believes the attackers are 'a multinational collection from all over the world.'

Kenya Chief of Defence forces General Julius Karangi said fighters from an array of nations participated in the attack claimed by Al Shabaab, a Somali group allies with al-Qaida.

'We have an idea who this people are and they are clearly a multinational collection from all over the world,' he said. We have an idea who they are, their nationality and even the number.  We are fighting global terrorism here and we have sufficient intel (intelligence) to suggest that.'

A Twitter account claiming to represent Al Shabaab yesterday claimed that terrorists from seven nations are involved in the attack, including the U.S., Britain and Canada.

The HSM Press Office account, which has been suspended twice, claimed the group were:

Lagosians spend N36billion annually on parties - Governor Fashola

Lagos state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, this weekend revealed that more than N36 billion is spent by Lagosians annually to organise parties. The governor said this at the 4th edition of the Lagos Ignite Enterprise and Employability project, a joint youth empowerment programme between the government and the Afterschool Graduate Development Centre, AGDC.

Governor Fashola said:
“This was the study of night life carried out by the government in five local governments including Agege, Mushin, Ifako-Ijaiye and Ikeja and another local government. It showed that more than N36 billion was spent on 1555 parties held within the period. We did a study between October and November last year. We studied from Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, three days every week for four weeks which was 12 nights. In 12 nights, 1555 parties were held in these local governments. In terms of drinks, food and all other engagements during such parties, about N1.2 billion was spent and when we dis-aggregated them we saw how much went to DJ, MC, food and drinks, the total picture in the state now and I don’t want to give you a wrong number but it’s something in the region of about N3 billion monthly on that side of our life and people are playing and impacting on that side of our economy.
The governor further stated that Aso Ebi alone gulped a minimum of N1.2billion monthly.

Proud Father Of the day Peter Okoye Wishes Sweet Son Happy 5th Birthday

Happy 5th birthday, Cameron.
Looking back, here is what Peter had said about his son in an interview with PMEntertainment in the past in 2008 when Cameron was born. How Cameron's birth had changed him.
How excited have you been about this?
I'm very excited. I'm so happy because that's one of the best gifts I have got in (2008).
Why did you christen the child Cameron?

See more tweets when you continue after the break.

Actually, Cameron is a name I have always loved from my childhood and when I presented the idea to the mother, she loved it as well.

What impact has the arrival of Cameron had on your life?
First of all, it has proved to me that in all circumstances, think of God first.
I was not the first person that has impregnated a woman before; most people must have done that and aborted it and at the end of the day, they will still feel that they’ve not done anything wrong. We that decided to keep ours should not be seen as bad influence by the public.
It has taught me how to respect life and people. No condition is permanent; it has also reminded me of the fact that our parents really did well for us, even if they were financially handicapped.
It has also taught me to be calm. I learnt to handle some situations and to be real. When the news broke that Lola was pregnant, a lot of people were expecting me to deny

What motivated Obama to give up smoking ?

Obama says he hasn't smoked for years, 'I'm scared of my wife'

President Obama may keep his nicotine gum handy in his fight to quit smoking, but it seems he’s got an even more potent weapon: fear of the first lady. After his afternoon UN roundtable discussion on civil society, Obama was caught by an open mic speaking with an attendee about his progress kicking his addiction to smoking. “I hope you quit smoking,” Obama is heard telling Maina Kiai, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association. “Sometimes,” Kiai replied with a chuckle. “I chew Nicorette,” Obama could be overheard telling Kiai, followed by an inaudible exchange.
Continue after the break.
“No, no. I haven’t had a cigarette in probably six years,” Obama said. “I’m scared of my wife.” Both men laughed. Obama admitted as recently as June 2009 — four years ago — that he still smoked cigarettes. At the time, he said he was “95 percent cured.” The President has been known to regularly chew nicotine gum and munch on celery sticks to help him overcome the habit. abcnews

Genevieve Nnaji On The Lésbianism Act With Actress Ella

Genevieve Nnaji On The Lésbianism Act With Actress Ella

Genevieve-and-Ella2
Benin Republic actress, Ella Martins has finally spoken up on her alleged romantic relationship with Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji.
Apparently some soft-sell magazines before now had reported that, Genevieve Nnaji and her Benin Republic actress, Ella Martins friend were lésbians and partners in the act.
Ella recently reacted to this, and reviewed to that such a thing never happened between them.
Read what Ella said below

Genevieve is a very good friend of mine, we met way back in 2004 and we have been good friends since then. The story that we are lovers must have come from another female friend of hers. I am saying this because since 2004, there have been no such lésbian stories but suddenly it sprung up.

Towards the end of last year, I came to Nigeria and I stayed with Genevieve. Although we stayed under the same roof, we slept in different rooms.
There was a time during my visit that we both went to see a friend in a hotel in Lekki and people saw us going in. We later went clubbing that night with the friend and which I think is a normal thing for girls to club if they want to. But that was when the rumours got worse, that we went into the hotel to sleep with each other!!!
She said it’s not the first time the Press would label her a lésbian but she has developed a thick skin and so it doesn’t bother her because she knows she is not a lésbian!
Genevieve and I have known each other since 2004 and she really is a nice person if you get to know her. We talk on phone a lot and we discuss life’s issues like normal girls do, she is a wonderful person.
I guess it’s because she is a famous person that some undesirable elements want to tarnish her image and mine too. The Press make things worse too.
There was a time I performed with Tony Tetuila and there were rumors after then that we were dating. But I just want to emphasize here that Genevieve and I are not in any form of séxual relationship, we are just good friends.
