True story: My relationship with PSquare’s Peter Okoye. – Munachi Abi

Since Munachi Abi came into limelight after winning the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria( MBGN) crown in 2007, life has never been the same again. Within a very short period  of time, Muna, as she is fondly called by her admirers became a household name especially when she emerged one of the  formidable female  artistes in the Nigerian entertainment scene, floating  her own record label company called, No Koncience. But  while Muna’s  profile was constantly on the rise, so did the number of controversies trailing her.
From her rumoured ‘love affair’ with Peter Okoye, one half of the superstar  duo, P-Square, to her public dispute and reconciliation with rapper, Mode 9, Muna fluctuated between popularity and notoriety. However, in this interview, she addresses some of the nagging issues affecting her personality and career. She also narrated the circumstances that informed her decision to set up  her own record label, No koncience among other things….

Do you still recall how you felt that fateful day  you were crowned as the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, MBGN 2007?
I was excited. I didn’t think I was going to win but I won.
Before you won the beauty pageant, you were with a group called,  The Specimen?
No, I wasn’t with them. They only gave me an opportunity to feature on their album as at that time. That was my first time rapping on wax. I used to write a lot of lyrics until my friend saw my notepad and quickly notified “The Specimen”  about me. They were glad to ask me to join them as they wanted  to see  what I could do with my talent. I would say, I learnt the art on the spot.
Have you written songs for any Nigerian artist?
Yes, back in the days, I wrote a song for J Martins, Waje. I have a good chemistry, I co-wrote the song, “I Wish” with Waje in her current album.
Aside writing songs and rapping, you are also into modelling. Do you still have that contract with Unilever as Face of Lux?
My contract with Lux is under review. They are trying to renew it.
And your programme  with Sound City. Is it also under review?
I still have an amazing relationship with SoundCity. I worked with them for over a year. We didn’t actually split but at that time, I was trying to get into the music business seriously. You really can’t do a lot of things at the same time. So, I took a break. I can always go back and say, I need my job back.

*Muna
Looking at your first video, Ifunanya, you played your character well; the love smitten girl and you have the looks too. Why didn’t you get into Nollywood?
No. I really don’t think I can act or even make it as a good actress although I haven’t tried it. I probably do know how to act, it’s just that I haven’t found the right script yet.
Have you been approached before?
Yes, I do get a lot of scripts. But I still haven’t found that one; when I find it, its going to make everybody cry.
Do you  want to play a tragic character?
Exactly, the kind of story I’m looking forward to interpreting because it moves me.

You recently set up your own record label called,  No Koncience. Why did you leave RMG to form yours?
I needed to become a little bit more independent and you know one needs to grow. I have  learnt how to handle things on my own and become responsible. It was something I needed to do  because one  cannot continue to be under someone’s wings forever. There comes a time when you have to spread you own wings and fly.
And you have a first single from this label?
Yes, my single “No Tomorrow” is out. It  came out on the 10th of this month, and it’s been good and a video for the song will soon be put together. My album, The Goddess, The hustler” is still receiving finishing touches but I may have to change the name.
Unlike many of your counterparts in the entertainment industry who prefer to climb the ladder of stardom by escalating their biffs with their colleagues. While your misunderstanding with Mode 9 lasted, you took the pain to call  him on the phone and even tweeted  a public apology,  what informed your decision to re-trace your steps?
I hate to be in enmity with someone. Life is too short for that. It’s not who I am. I have a good relationship with Mode 9, there’s no biff. And really it wasn’t a big issue it’s just you, the media who escalated things, trying to make a mountain out of nothing. You keep hammering on the same question trying to get the person to react negatively and it’s really frustrating. Mode 9 and I are very good friends and we’ll keep it that way.
It is alleged this is partly why you left your former label, RMG, for being too hard on fans with that strong worded press statement that told everyone off?
No, I did not leave RMG for that reason. I still have a good relationship with my former label and I was aware of all the statements written concerning that issue. I left RMG because I needed to start up my own thing; there was nothing more to it. I have no issues whatsoever with RMG.
What’s your opinion about love?
Love is life. It’s the most beautiful thing to happen to anybody.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes, it could happen. It is possible.
Is this what happened between you and Peter Okoye (PSquare) love at first sight?
Look, I know Lola Omotola very well. I have known her for years and we are really close. All those things you heard or read about us are not true. Peter Okoye and I are friends. I know his family well. I was just invited to be in his video (Ifunanya) and that was it. Nothing more than that. I know how Peter and Lola love each other and I respect their love.  I could never do that to them. I could never bring myself to do anything to hurt them.
It’s good to have you clear the air!
(She interrupts) What you’ll see is another screaming headline, “Muna again denies affair with Peter Okoye.” It’s not fair, it’s heartbreaking and very frustrating. Some of these things you media guys  write about us hurts us so badly.
How have you learnt to deal with rumours about you?
I try to remain focused and I move on.
How supporting has your family been?
My family has always been there for me. My mum particularly, she is my rock. She’s always asking when am I going to get your song to use as my ringtone.
If offered a role to play  in a steaming love scene who will you do it with?
Maybe, with Johny Depp and Brad Pitt … except Brad Pitt says he won’t be doing sex scenes again because of Angelina Jolie, but for them, I am ready to play more than romantic.
What about  Nollywood Actors?
No. There is no one hot enough for me in Nollywood. No one.
What’s your vision for your new label?
To take over the world. (laughs) really it’s just to grow and be an inspiration to the next generation. To let them know anything and everything is possible once you set your mind to it.
Is marriage knocking on your door?
Yes, I believe it will come when it has to come and you all will know when the time is right.
What’s your favourite dance move?
I really don’t think I have  any particular one. You know as a rapper you aren’t really supposed to dance. You just stand on one spot and wave your hands.

TB Joshua And Chris Oyakilome Labelled By Cultists By Ghanaian Pastor Who Says He Saw A Vision

TB Joshua And Chris Oyakilome Labelled By Cultists By Ghanaian Pastor Who Says He Saw A

Ghanaian Bishop Isaac Owusu Bempah, Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, has labeled two of Nigeria's celebrated pastors as partners in winning souls for the devil.

In the words of the controversial Owusu Bempah, the founding President of Believers' LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as "Christ Embassy", Dr Christian Oyakhilome (popularly known as "Pastor Chris") and General Overseer of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet Temitope Balogun (aka TB) Joshua, are not "true men of God", but leaders of occults, winning souls for the devil.

This claim, according to Owusu-Bempah, is based on God's revelation to him in a vision as well as his own analysis of the scripture, works and conduct of the two popular heads of two religious organisations in Africa.

Owusu-Bempah said he once heard Pastor Chris saying he saw nothing wrong with homosexuality and lesbianism, and wondered which true man of God would lead his flock with such beliefs.

"No doubt he [Pastor Chris] is a friend and partner of TB Joshua", Owusu-Bempa noted last week, claiming both men are dubious men of God who have a pact with the devil.

For Owusu Bempah, Nigerians have allegedly realized the dubious character of the Nigerian televangelist faith healer and founding president of Christ Embassy and his partnership with TB Joshua and have consequently chased him out of the country to South Africa, where he presently resides.

On TB Joshua, Owusu-Bempa claimed he once saw him with his feet on the floor preaching, an incident he said revealed to him that TB Joshua was not from God.

"When you see anyone claiming to worship God who worships with his feet on the ground, he's an occultist. And TB Joshua is an occultist.

"Ask yourself how TB Joshua, who claims God called him, worships with his feet on the ground? Let me tell you if you go to any church and you see the leader worshiping with his feet on the ground, it's a sign of demonism; it's occultic. People like that follow spirits that are not of God. It is occultic."

According to him, God later revealed that TB Joshua was an occultist who did not draw his spiritual powers from God.

"Some time ago, I used to like TB Joshua. I was watching him on television, and the Lord opened my eyes. I saw him with horns on his head, and he had the face of a wolf. His tongue was that of a snake and he had blood smeared all over his mouth."

"Immediately, I rushed into my bedroom, and the Lord told me that he wasn't from Him, but was working under the authority of bad spirits," the pastor added. "That was when I realized TB Joshua was demonic and not of God."

The man who has himself been labeled a false prophet by some of his critics, advised Ghanaians not to be misled by signs of wonders and so-called men of God whose powers do not come from God.

He also accused TB Joshua in particular of sometimes faking miracles to win the confidence of his flock. "He can perform a clean miracle today and contaminate it with a lot of fake ones".

Joshua claimed his "own junior pastor went to his church to be healed. He was forced to sit in a wheel chair and made to claim before the cameras that he had received his healing even though he hadn't. He returned to the country and within two weeks, he passed away", Owusu-Bempah stated.

He again cautioned Ghanaians not to be in a hurry to attend the services of Prophet TB Joshua since he is the "anti-christ."
"If you are a pastor who worked under him and he gets to know you want to reveal his secrets, he kills you directly," Owusu-Bempah alleged.

"If no one is willing to say this, I will say it: TB Joshua is the anti-christ and an agent of the devil... I know of a pastor who attended his church, and when he should tell you about what he saw, your mouth would drop," he stated.

Culled from Nigerian Tribune
A housewife, Mrs Suzanna Fawole (38), has been remanded in Ife prisons in Osun State after she was arraigned in Magistrates’ court, Modakeke on Monday, June 3.Fawole was accused of bathing one Funmilayo Aderibigbe (35), whom she suspected to be husband’s lover, with a liquid substance suspected to be acid, thereby causing her grievous bodily harm. The acting Chief Magistrate, Mr O.A. Ayilara ordered that the accused be remanded in Ife prison custody while the case was adjourned till July 1 for further hearing.
May 6, was like any other day for Aderibigbe who resides on Adeboye Street, Ife-Modakeke road. Set for the day ahead, she went ahead to prepare herself for the activities she had lined up for herself, oblivious of what was in stock for her.

Before the end of the day, however, her once-beautiful physique which made her the toast of all, suddenly crumpled under the subduing power of acid. She was almost turned into a monster such as ones usually seen in horror movies after she was allegedly bathed with acid by Fawole.

Crime Reports gathered that Fawole had alleged Aderibigbe of having an affair with her husband. As a result, the suspect had sent a number of threatening text messages to the victim, warning her to steer clear of her husband. Aderibigbe reportedly ignored the messages and went about her life until the deadly liquid was used to arouse her from her perceived indifferent attitude.

Residents of the area were said to have been infuriated by the suspect’s act, as an angry mob reportedly gathered, with the intention to revenge Fawole’s act but immediately police officers and men attached to Modakeke Division of the Osun State Police Command were alerted on the occurrence, Crime Reports gathered that they quickly moved to the scene to control the crowd and prevent a serious crisis from erupting.

It was said that peace was eventually restored to the area after the suspect had been arrested. The victim was also taken to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, (OAUTHC) Ile-Ife for prompt medical attention. Her mouth and tongue were said to have been badly affected that she was being fed through the nose.

During interrogation, Fawole reportedly confessed that she decided to teach the victim a lesson out of frustration and fear of losing her husband to the lady. The victim was said to be fond of going to the matrimonial home of the suspect to meet her husband with whom she was suspected of having a relationship. Fawole admitted beating Aderibigbe before pouring the acid on her.

Edo Police Parade 36 Suspected Kidnappers, Cultists

Edo Police Parade 36 Suspected Kidnappers, Cultists

The Edo State Police Command, yesterday, paraded 36 persons allegedly involved in kidnapping, robbery and cultism, including the cult leaders allegedly involved in recent killings in the state.
The suspects were arrested with cache of arms, including AK47 riffle, two AK 47 rifle magazines, 23 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, two Magnum pump action guns, one English-made cut to size double barrel gun and 107 live cartridges.
The Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr Foluso Adebanjo, who paraded the suspects before newsmen, reiterated his call to criminals and cultists to leave the state or be “crushed,” just as he solicited the cooperation of members of the public to give useful information to the police.
While hailing the ban on Okada in the state capital, the CP said  about 90 per cent of crimes being committed in the state were carried out with motorcycles.
He said the suspects were arrested in different locations in the state, adding that the kidnappers among them were involved in the abduction of some foreigners and members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers few weeks ago who were arrested in their hideouts.
Insisting that the ban on commercial motorcycles will help check the excesses of criminals in the state, Adebanjo said “the ban on Okada is a very good thing  and for security purposes. A lot of crimes being committed in Benin City are bike-related. They use bike to rob people, kill people and even cultists use bikes to operate.
“So we have no fear that the ban on Okada will increase crime, we are fully prepared to take care of that. These people arrested failed to heed to my earlier call that they should repent or face the fire power of the police. We are going to charge them to court. I am also advising others to repent or leave the state because we will not tolerate cultism, killings and robbery in Edo State.”

How Five South African Policemen Brutally Beat A Nigerian To Faint, Wake Him Then Tortue Him Again To Death

How Five South African Policemen Brutally Beat A Nigerian To Faint, Wake Him Then Tortue Him Again To Death

Five Limpopo police officers beat a Nigerian man to death, the Polokwane Magistrate's Court heard on Thursday.
"I put it to you that you beat him, he fainted and you resuscitated him. He woke up and... you beat him again," prosecutor Jacky Mabasa told the jury in court
"You also sprinkled water on him."
The five, Boitumelo Ramahlala, Mashiba Mathata, Collins Sekoati, Thabo Mabotja and Clement Tsotsane, face murder and assault charges. They were applying for bail.
They are accused of beating Onyechiabi Iwuaka to death on May 21 while he was visiting a friend. His friend escaped the assault. Iwuaka died on the way to the Polokwane police station.
The court was told the officers stopped on the way to the police station to buy water, as Iwuaka was bleeding from his ears.
Mabasa said an ambulance was called for Iwuaka after he died.
"The reason you cannot tell me specifically what you did that day is because you assaulted him. That's why you cannot tell what you did," Mabasa said.
The court was told Iwuaka was merely in his friend's home, and was the wrong person to be arrested.
The five evaded questions, and said they never accused or hurt anyone. This prompted magistrate Janine Ungerer to question if they shared the same holding cell. She suspected they had coached each other on how to respond to questions.
The bail application was postponed to Monday.

Nigerians To Pay ?3,000 Cash Bond To Visit UK ******* Nigeria, South Africa Now Visa Free

Nigerians To Pay ?3,000 Cash Bond To Visit UK ******* Nigeria, South Africa Now Visa Free

Visitors from Nigeria and other “high risk” countries in Asia and Africa will be forced to pay a £3,000 cash bond before they can enter United Kingdom.

From November, a pilot scheme will target visitors from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Ghana who will have to pay the UK government a form of cash guarantee or deposit to deter immigration abuse. They will forfeit the £3,000 if they overstay in Britain and fail to return to their home countries by the time their visa has expired.

The controversial move by the UK home secretary, Theresa May, to introduce the Australian-style system reflects her determination to show that the Conservatives are serious about cutting immigration in the UK.

Ms May said: “This is the next step in making sure our immigration system is more selective, bringing down net migration from the hundreds of thousands to the tens of thousands, while still welcoming the brightest and the best to Britain.”

She added: “In the long run we’re interested in a system of bonds that deters overstaying and recovers costs if a foreign national has used our public services.”

The Home Office is targeting countries which have high volumes of visitor visa applications and what it deems to be relatively high levels of fraud and abuse.

Meanwhile, Nigeria and South Africa on Tuesday signed an agreement aimed at ending visa acquisition by holders of official and diplomatic passports.

Both Presidents, Jacob Zuma and Goodluck Jonathan met in Cape Town, South Africa where various issues were discussed on how to improve on relationship between both countries as they agreed on so many issues aimed at boosting development in the continent.

When I first saw learnt about the SA visa waiver, it looked like a welcome development until I learnt that it was for official passport holders(blue passport) and diplomatic passport holders only.

No doubt, Nigerians have a tendency to abuse visa flexibility, however the proposed UK immigration reform about to take effect is very unwelcome. There are other ways in my view to ensure selective immigration. Its bad enough that Nigerians pay exorbitantly sums for visa fees already.

The government keeps allowing its citizens to be treated like trash by countries who have so much to gain from Nigeria.

Don Jazzy has got to be the most generous Nigerian celebrity ever. A few weeks ago he gave a mutual friend of ours who has kidney issues, N1million.

He did it quietly a few days back but when I found out, well, I just had to share it. And let's not forget the N2million he gave cancer patient Funmi Lawal last year and many things I hear he does very quietly.
God bless him. Also, thanks to Ruggedman who has also donated to OJB.

Now calling on other artists to please do same. OJB Jezreel needs N15million for a kidney transplant in India.
This guy has done so much for music in Nigeria and had helped so many Nigerian artists achieve success. Now is the time to give back

Actress Chika Ike recently moved into a big house in one of the rich neighbourhood in Lagos. She is now an independent women, at her young age.
See what Chika Ike said about her love life below…
I would not want to talk about the experience with early marriage and spousal abuse. When you get married, things happen along the line and you ask yourself if it is something you can take.
Everybody has their share of experience in marriage. I don’t like talking about it because I’m trying to get over it.
The next man I will marry? I am not sure I am going to get married but if I eventually do, I will just let go and allow God to guide me. But if it does not work out, happiness is all that matters. I cannot sacrifice my happiness for anybody.

Popular Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim questions the $100,000 reportedly required for OJB Jezreel’s kidney transplant.
The light skinned beauty in a statement posted on Instagram said, ‘I know a kidney transplant will not cost more than 50k USD. Why are they requesting 100K when so many deals with cheaper hospitals out there in India even in Ghana can be worked out?’
Miss Ibrahim who incidentally runs a kidney foundation also added, ‘To get the necessary help, those in charge of OJB’s fundraising need to reach out to the right people and stop harassing celebrities for funds’,
While also saying that people should refrain from harassing celebs over donations for the transplant she told fans, ‘Who said your 1000 Naira can not amount to something that can raise the sum needed for OJB’s transplant’.
